Life happens. You may be just getting on your feet financially, when an unexpected one-time expense threatens all the progress that you’ve made. The furnace breaks, you need new glasses, an application fee is more than you can afford. At times like these, everyone can use a friend. The You’ve Got a Friend Fund (YGAFF), partnering with Healthy Acadia, helps Hancock County residents whose lives can be changed for the better by $1,000 or less.

YGAFF has helped over 230 Hancock County residents to overcome serious obstacles. The Fund is a last resort when other assistance is unavailable. When needs might be covered by government programs or other nonprofits, YGAFF directs applicants to other resources. Learn more in our Resources section.
