Resources- Who Can Help?
Case Management
When you are in need of a helping hand, social service professionals or case managers can be knowledgeable advocates for you. When you apply for a YGAFF grant, if you do not have a case manager or social worker, we will recommend that you apply to get one. These professionals can help you find the services you qualify for to deal with many different problems; food, housing, medical care, transportation and more. YGAFF wants to help with problems that fall outside the safety nets of these services. If you are not sure where to start, ask your health care provider, or clinic for a referral, or take this link to a list of case management services.
Help with Medical and Dental Expenses
YGAFF helps people who have no other option to pay for necessary healthcare. Before applying to YGAFF to meet these needs, please consider the resources listed at the link below and apply if you think you may qualify. Specifically, YGAFF typically only funds medical treatments after they have been applied for through MaineCare and have been rejected.*
