Help With Income and Overall Need

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

In addition to the link below, calling Call 211 or 1-866-811-5695 in Maine or going to My Maine Connection at maine.gov can also be great ways to get started with TANF. These contacts can direct you to help for housing, basic needs, health and crisis support.

For families with dependent children and pregnant women, TANF provides cash benefits to those who qualify as well as job training and education. Other TANF programs, such as ASPIRE, strive to help applicants achieve financial independence through case management, job training, education, support and employment services.
